Arthur J. Winslow

Arthur Joseph Winslow, 88, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27. 1993, at Parkview Care Center.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Open visitation will begin Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Commission of the Blind.

Winslow was born May 24, 1905, in Birmingham the son of Elgar Eli and Sara Elizabeth Troette Winslow. He married Minnie Lucile Ross on Aug. 31, 1940, in Memphis, Mo. He4 had farmed and worked for 30 years in the electrical stockroom of Louden Machinery Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, was a member of the First United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #47.

Surviving are his wife, a brother, Norman “Ned” of Fairfield; two sisters, Mildred Ireland of Grand Junction, Colo., and Vera Speer of Rapid City, Ill. Three brothers, Gene, George, Fred and two sisters, Faye Powers and Louise Winslow, preceded him in death.
