Funeral Services Held Today
For Mrs. Canaday, 70

BIRMINGHAM, Ia.---Funeral services were held here today for Mrs. Dulcia Iris Canaday, 70, who died Saturday afternoon at the Jefferson County hospital.

Last rites were held by the Rev. Wayne Hoehns at the Birmingham Methodist church. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery. The body was at the Burch Funeral home.

Mrs. Canaday was born May 24, 1890 the daughter of William and Dema Wiley Gire. She was married to Albert N. Canaday in September, 1916. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1950.

Mrs. Canaday taught school in Van Buren county for several years. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Esther Beswick, Fred Canaday and Carroll Cannaday, all of Birmingham; Ralph Canaday, Keosauqua; and Ernest Canaday, Mt. Zion.

Also surviving are the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Helen White and Mrs. Willa Hillery, both of Galesburg, Ill.; Mrs. June Leathers and Emery Gire, both of Fairfield; and Stanley Gire, Douds. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.
