MRS. JAMES COE

Zerelda Allan[sic] Coe, daughter of Elijah and Mary Allen as[sic] born near Bainbridge, Indiana, July 2, 1846 and passed away at her home near Milton, Iowa, April 12, 1931, aged 84 years, 9 months and 10 days.

When quite young she came to LaGrange, Iowa. Here she spent her girlhood days and later married Jas. Coe, now deceased, October 8, 1868. Three children were born to them: Addison Dowe, who preceded his parents in death; Allie M. and Ernest E. who reside at home. Others who survive are one brother, Robert Allen Norton, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.

She was converted early in life and became a member of the Presbyterian church and later came to Cantril, Iowa, where she united with the M. E. church and was a faithful and loyal member.

“Aunty Coe” as she was called by those who knew her well, was a true companion, a good mother and a kind and loving neighbor. She was always interested in the welfare of others, ever ready to help those who needed help. Not only will she be missed by her children, who loved her so dearly, but by everyone who knew her. She has gone from her earthly home to enter that Beautiful City where parting is no more. Why she was called away we do not understand, but our heavenly Father knoweth and doeth all things well.
