VEDA WOLF

Veda Wolfe, daughter of Oliver T. and Sarah Matheson Wolf, was born Feb. 12, 1898, near Keosauqua and passed away Sept. 7, 1962 in the Burlington hospital at the age of 64 years, six months and 25 days. She had been quite ill since the first of the year, undergoing three operations and spending a total of 105 days in the hospital since February.

Her early years were spent in and around Keosauqua and in 1937, she went to the Paul Satterthwaite home in Burlington where she helped rear and care for his two motherless children, Robert, now of Chicago, and Marilyn, (Mrs. Richard Manson) of Fairfield.

She was united with the Methodist church in Keosauqua in 1925, later transferring her membership to the First Methodist church in Burlington. She had been president of her Sunday school class for a number of years and was an active member of Rebekah Lodge and at the time of her death was treasurer of the Paul Castor Noble Grand.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and a brother.

In addition to the Satterthwaite family, survivors are two sisters, Vera, (Mrs. Hershel Cox) and Florence, (Mrs. Otto B. Burchett) of Keosauqua and several relatives and a host of close friends.

Services were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Keosauqua Methodist church in charge of Rev. E.S. Tschetter. Burial was in Fellows cemetery at Keosauqua.

Zeda Wolf

Zeda Wolf, 64, former resident of Keosauqua, passed away Friday, Sept. 7 at Burlington. Her death came at 11 a.m. in the Burlington hospital after a lengthy illness.

Last rites were held Monday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. in the Methodist church at Keosauqua with the Rev. E.S. Tschetter in charge. Burial was in the Fellows cemetery.

Zeda Wolf was born Feb. 12, 1898 near Keosauqua, the daughter of Oliver T. and Sarah Matheson Wolf. For the past 25 years she had lived in the Paul Satterthwaite home in Burlington.

She was a member of the Methodist church, and a past Noble Grand of the Rebekah lodge.

Miss Wolf is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Otto B. Burchett and Mrs. Herschel E. Cox, both of Keosauqua. A brother preceded her in death.
