Virginia Elizabeth Wells

Virginia Elizabeth Wells, 81, of the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Behner's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dave Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Winchester Cemetery.

Open visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Van Buren Care Facility.

Ms. Wells was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Wapello County, the daughter of Jerry and Sylvia Ford Wells.

She lived most of her life in Van Buren County. She was a homemaker. Her pastimes included embroidery on table cloths, pillowcases and quilts.

She is survived by a close friend Goldie Savage of Keosauqua; one sister Judy Shoemate of Huntsville, Texas; two half sisters, Betty Clark of Colo. and Louise Osborn of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Dorothy M. Hickenbottom; and one brother, Richard Burkett.
