CARL V. DOUD

Carl Vernon Doud, 83, of Keosauqua, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 1996, at Van Buren County Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua.

He was born April 9, 1912 in Van Buren County to Owen and Ines Duffield Doud.

He graduated from Bloomfield High School, farmed in Van Buren and Davis counties, and was a self-employed trucker. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and musician, providing music with others of his family for many local dances and other community events.

Surviving are two brothers, Kenneth of Moravia and Ralph of Keosauqua, three nieces, Shirley Ott, Donna DeJaynes and Sherry Sue Weeks and five nephews, Angelo, Dennis, Richard, Doug and Steve Doud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Herbert, a sister, Margaret Davis, and two nephews, Tony Doud and Barney Murphy.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 1996 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial was in Pittsburg Cemetery.

Memorials to Pittsburg Cemetery may be left at the funeral home.
