ILA W. SHIPLEY

Ila W. Shipley, daughter of William and Mary Spurlock Brandt, was born August 29, 1908 in Jefferson co. and died the afternoon of Sunday, December 22, 1991, at Nelson Nursing Home, Fairfield at the age of 83.

She married Harley P. Shipley November 27, 1929 at Shelbina, Missouri. He died June 19, 1987.

She graduated from Shelbina High School, and was a homemaker, living west of Birmingham until moving to Fairfield in 1987. She was a Methodist.

Surviving are two daughters, Viola Shipley, Fairfield and Violet Findlay, and her husband Hugh, Libertyville, a daughter-in-law, Lorene Shipley, Douds, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harley R. Shipley, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held, Tuesday, December 24, 1991 at 3 p.m. at PedrickFuneral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Interment was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds. A memorial was established.
