Miss Julia Hanback, an aged and respected lady of Vernon, died at the county farm Sunday, January 25, 1903.

Miss Hanback came from Kentucky to Iowa in 1853 and for half a century has lived in this state.

Until recently she had been living with her brother-in-law, R. M. Dixon, in Vernon, but of late her body and mind had partially succumbed to the inroads of time and her condition was such that she needed constant care and attention. She was received at the county farm last September and was cared for there until her death.

She has a brother-in-law, R. M. Dixon, and a brother, Thos. Hanback, still living.

Miss Hanback was eighty-two years old at the time of her death. She had lived a long, useful life.
