OBITUARY

George McLeland, the second son of W. E. and Isabelle McLeland, was born near Unionville, Mo., Dec. 17, 1874, and passed away April 13, 1926, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 26 days.

When he was a small child his parents located near Cantril where George spent most of his life with the exception of 2 years which he spent on the Pacific Coast. When his health began to fail he went to Mayo Bros. for treatment and later to Excelsior Springs, where he doctored for two years. At the death of his father in 1918 he returned to Milton to care for his mother, continuing his residence here until his death. He was a member of the M. E. church, uniting under the pastorate of Rev. Gilbert. He was a member of the K. P. lodge and was held in the highest esteem. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances.

During the last six months of his illness he fought persistently and with wonderful courage to regain his health but without avail, and he slipped peacefully away at 3 o’clock p.m. Apr.13.

His father and mother and one brother, L.L., preceded him in death. He leaves five brothers and one sister. H.L., Frank and Blanche Madden of Milton; C. E. of Mt. Sterling; Harry of Fairfield, and Ray of Brule, Neb.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Thursday afternoon, April 15, conducted by Rev. H. F. Gilbert. Burial in Milton Sunnyside cemetery.
