Willa Van Steinburgh

Willa Van Steinburgh, 96, of the La Moine Christian Nursing Home, Roseville, Illinois, died 10:20 P.M. Saturday March 4, 1989, at the nursing home.

Born January 25, 1893, in Bentonsport, she was the daughter of George and Lena Henry Stemple. She married Berlin Van Steinburgh, August 31, 1912, in Cantril. He died February 18, 1966.

She and her husband operated the Benner Food Store, Stronghurst, Illinois from 1929 to 1965. She had lived in Mesa, Arizona for several years. She had resided at the La Moine Christian Nursing Home since 1980. She was a member of the Stronghurst United Methodist Church, a past member of the Burlington White Shine and a past worthy matron of the Stronghurst Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn (Ogden) Davis, Macomb, Illinois, one grandson and one great grandson.

Visitation will be until time of service with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Tuesday, at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, Illinois.

The service for Mrs. Van Steinburgh will be 2 P.M. Tuesday at the Banks & Beals Funeral Home, Stronghurst, Illinois, with the Rev. Ed. Snow officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Media, Illinois.

Memorials have been established for the Stronghurst United Methodist Church and the La Moine Christian Nursing Home.
