Muriel Van Steinburg

Muriel L. Van Steinburg, 97, formerly of Cantril, died 8:33 A.M. Saturday 8, 1989, at the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua.

Born July 17, 1891, in Oakville, she was the daughter of Joseph and Abigail Haight Keller. She married Foster Van Steinburg July 17, 1909, in Cantril. He died in 1967.

She lived in Cantril for many years and at the Van Buren Samaritan Center, Keosauqua for the past eight years. She had been employed as a telephone operator with Troy and Lebanon. She was a member of the Cantril United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Martha Wellborn, Donnellson; one sister, Ruth Apostolis, Seattle, Washington, four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 P.M. today at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.

The service for Mrs. Van Steinburg will be 1:30 P.M. Monday at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril.

Memorials have been established for the Cantril United Methodist Church and the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center van fund.

MURIEL VAN STEINBURGH

Muriel L. Van Steinburgh, daughter of Joseph M. and Abigail Haight Keller, was born July 17, 1891 at Oakville, Iowa and died the morning of Saturday, April 8, 1989 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, at the age of 97.

Most of her life was lived in Davis and Van Buren Counties. She was a telephone operator at Troy and Lebanon. Lived many years in Cantril, and had resided the past eight years at the Good Samaritan Center.

She was a member of Cantril United Methodist Church.

She married Foster Van Steinburgh July 17, 1909 at Cantril. He died in 1967. A daughter, Helen Halberstadt, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha Wellborn and her husband, Bert of Donnellson, four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, a sister, Ruth Apostolis, Seattle, Washington, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 10, 1989, at 1:30 P.M. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with the Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Memorials were established for her church and Van Buren Good Samaritan Center.
