Accident claims two lives

A one-car accident killed two people in Van Buren County over the Labor Day weekend.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Sheila K. HOAGLIN, 61, Canton, MO, formerly of Van Buren County and Adam D. SEDERBURG, 23, Mt. Sterling, were killed August 30 when their 1993 Pontiac, failed to negotiate a curve on Highway 2 at the junction with County W-40.

The vehicle was west bound on Highway 2, entered the north ditch and rolled several times. Both the driver and front seat passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

A third passenger, Ty Bogguss, 23, Mt. Sterling, was transported to Van Buren County Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The accident happened at approximately 9:49 P.M.

Assisting the Iowa State Patrol were the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department, Van Buren County Ambulance and Farmington and Bonaparte Fire and Rescue.

That was the second fatal accident at the Bonaparte Y in three years. On Saturday, May 27, 2000, an Oquawka, Ill., man, Thomas C. SELLS, 23, was killed in a head-on collision. That accident injured nine people.

(I research the LAWSON lineage.)
