OBITUARY

Sarah Frances Leaverton, daughter of James and Lucretia Leaverton, was born near Milton, Iowa, October 29, 1852 and died at her home in Milton, Iowa, Dec. 20, 1925, making her 73 years, 1 month, and 21 days old at the time of her death.

She was united in marriage to Wm. Isenhower, of Cantril, Iowa, October 12, 1869.
To this union were born three children, Clay of Milton; John of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Verna Sigler, of Ranger, Texas.
Mr. Isenhower died, Nov. 14, 1879.

On October 31st, 1884, she was again united in marriage to T. J. Price, of Cantril.
To this union two children were born, Mrs. Edna Grant of Sceptre, Canada, and Vallie who preceded her mother in death five years ago.
Mr. Price died April 17th, 1895.

When but 16 years of age she united with the Christian church at what was known as the Old Egypt church, between Cantril and Milton, after transferring her membership to Cantril and later to the Christian church at Milton of which she remained a faithful and loyal member until the time of her death.

She leaves besides her immediate family six grandchildren; Mr. Carrol Fullerton of Spring Valley, Minn. Mrs. Rita Kennedy of Dallas, Texas; Frances, Genevieve, Loraine and Dorthea Grand of Sceptre, Canada; three great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Holmes of Lebanon, South Dakota; Mrs. Iambia Abernaty of Glen dive, Montana; four brothers, W. S. of Granger, Iowa; G. W. of Ranger, Texas; and J. C. and O.H. of Milton, Iowa.
Also three step children, Mrs. Sam Warner, Cantril; Mrs. Ross Sullivan, California; Clarence Price, Milton, deceased; and a nephew, Will Price of Ames, who grew up from childhood to manhood in this home.

Most of her life was spent on a farm near Cantril, except a few years when she lived in Ringold county. During the last 20 years she lived in Milton with her son Clay.

To know Aunt Sade was to love her. She was a very hospitable disposition and there was a welcome for everyone in her home.

She was severely tried, was weighed in the balances and not found wanting by the loss of loved ones and physical afflictions.
But she bore all with dauntless courage and always came out smiling. She manifested her faith in God by her untiring energy in her service to the church. When possible she was always in her place ready to do her part. It can be truly said of her she hath done what she could.
She will be greatly missed by the church and by her host of friends.
But our loss in heaven’s gain.

Only a dram only a dream
And glory beyond the dark sea
How peaceful the slumber!
How happy the waking!
For death is only a dream.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Milton Christian church.
Elder H. C. Shaw officiating
Burial at Cantril cemetery.
