A TRUBUTE TO MISS EUNICE CHISMAN

Bidwell- This community was who shocked and saddened on receiving the news Saturday afternoon that Miss Eunice Chisman had taken her life at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Chisman, Saturday between the hours of one and two o’clock p.m. by shooting herself in forehead with a 22 caliber rifle. Miss Chisman was a young woman whose friendship was prized for she was known to be a woman of high ideals and a Christian whatever the cause that led to the end it is assured that temporarily at least she had lost control of her facilities and did an act that she would have shrunk from with horror in a saner moment. She had been in poor health for some time.

She was 23 years, 4 months and 22 days of age at the time of death and was born on the place from when she departed this life. She leaves to mourn their loss besides her beloved parents, Mr. And Mrs. C. R. Chisman, two brothers, M. F. Chisman of Canton, Miss. And one sister Mrs. Elmer Rose of Pleasant Home and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were conducted from the Christianburg church on Tuesday Aug. 10, at 2 o’clock p.m. the edifice being filled to overflowing with sorrowing relatives and friends of the deceased.
The services were beautiful which is characteristic of Rev. C. E. Pettit’s funeral sermons which pay a glowing tribute to the dead. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful.
Following the ceremonies at the church the funeral cortege was one of the largest ever seen in this vicinity following the remains to the Chisman cemetery where they were placed in their final resting place - Contributed.
