Forrest LAUGHLIN

ELDON -- Forrest E. LAUGHLIN, 66, of Eldon died at 5:28 p.m. March 13, 1995, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born Aug. 1, 1928, in Jefferson County to James Lewis and Nellie HEMM LAUGHLIN. He married Lois FITE on April 30, 1951, in Kirksville, Mo.

He was reared and lived most of his life in Eldon. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed as a machinist at John Deere in Ottumwa for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the board of trustees and was a past president of Bethlehem Cemetery Association.

He is survived by his wife; his mother of Savannah, Mo.; two daughters, Ptricia VAUGHN of Tulsa, Okla., and Roberta BAKER of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sons, Mitchell and Mark of Agency; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, T. Maxine BOMAR of St. Joseph, Mo.; a brother, Addis LAUGHLIN of Savannah, Mo.; and two stepsisters, Arleta Rae OVERBY of Ottumwa and Karen BOTTGER of Excelsior Springs, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Joy LAUGHLIN.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eldon, the Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Floris. Military rites will be conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 of Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post No. 3 of American Legion.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Pott, Steve Morrow, John Chickering, Jerry Sapp, Richard Jones, Millard Brown, Randy Garrett, Scott Mosher and Dean Brown.

Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Friday at Campbell-Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon. Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Eldon Congregational Church.
