Anna Elizabeth, daughter of Robert and Martha McClure, was born August 2, 1857 near Eldon, Ia., and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. McNabb east of Troy, July 5, 1936, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 3 days.

On June 8, 1876 she was united in marriage to J. E. Hilpert. To bless this union 5 children were born. Mary E. Downing, Laura McNabb, Frank R., Ella M. Fickle and Amos C.

She confessed her faith in her Savior at an early age and united with the Bethlehem Christian church near Eldon. Later with her husband, she united with the Hickory Grove Baptist church near Troy, in which fellowship, she continued until she was called home.

She is survived by her devoted husband, her daughters, Mrs. Laura McNabb and Mrs. Ella Fickel and her son, Frank, her twin brother James McClure of Eldon, eight grand children, Roy Downing, Verna , Robert, Dale and Willa Mae Fickel; Roby and Fern Hilpert and Mrs. Bessie Carruthers. All of near Troy. Besides these named there are two great grandchildren, Dale and Mary Lee Downing all of near Troy and a host of devoted friends to mourn her death.
