Henry Lein.

Henry Lein was born in Hessen, Darnstadt, Germany, May 10, 1834, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stein, at Big Mound, Iowa, Jan. 2, 1911, at the age of 76 years, seven months and 23 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure a sorrowing companion, one son, Charles Lein of Big Mound; two daughters, Mrs. Ka*e Cheeseman of Mt. Carroll, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Stein of Big Mound; one brother at Fulton, Ill.; two sisters in Germany, eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

May, 1858, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Pabst and in 1859 he and his family came to Carroll county, Ill., where he lived until 1903 when he came to live with Mrs. Stein at Big Mound.

At the age of 14 he united with the Evangelical church of which he remained a faithful member until death. Funeral services were held Thursday at the M. E. church with burial in the Sharon cemetery.
