Anna Elizabeth Hilpert

Anna Elizabeth, daughter of Robert and Martha McClure, was born August 2, 1857 near Eldon, Ia., and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. McNabb east of Troy, July 5, 1936, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 3 days.

On June 8, 1876 she was united in marriage to J. E. Hilpert. To bless this union 5 children were born. Mary E. Downing, Laura McNabb, Frank R., Ella M. Fickle and Amos C.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Bethehen church and later with her husband united with the Hickory Grove Baptist church.

She is survived by her husband, her twin brother, James McClure of Eldon, 3 children, Mrs. Laura McNabb, Mrs. Ella Fickel and Frank Hilpert; Mrs. Bessie Carruthers, Vera, Robert, Dale and Willa May Fickel, also 2 great grandchildren, Dale and Mary Lee Downing all of near Troy.

The Rev. Luther Childs of Centerville assisted by the Rev. Charles Fix of Troy M.E. Church preached the funeral sermon.
Burial at the Rough cemetery. The Music was furnish by Mrs. Lois Moughler and Madely Matt with Mrs. Ross Paul at the piano. The Pallbearers were Ross Pall, C. E. Brodeen, John and Elmer Hilpert, Jess McNabb and Clyde Prevo.
