PASSING OF MRS. C. MCCLURG

Mrs. C. McClurg was born at Keosauqua, Iowa, June 13, 1874, and departed this life, after a lingering illness, at her home in Milton, Iowa, Thursday, Sept, 17, 1925, at 7:50 a.m. Her girlhood and early womanhood was spent at Keosauqua, moving to Milton about 20 years ago which has been her home since.

On Dec. 17, 1898, she was united in marriage to Dr. C. McClurg, three children being born to this union, Dr. Earnest McClurg, of Milton, Paul Norris McClurg, who died at the age of 4 years, Luzon D. McClurg, of Milton. Several years ago a sister of Mrs. McClurg, leaving several children, Mrs. McClurg was a mother to them until grown. Those living are Mrs. A. P. Hoskins, of Milton, and Mrs. Gail Huddleston, of Moulton.

Mrs. McClurg was a member of the Eastern Star Order, the White Shrine and the Pythias Sisters. In early life she united with the Christian church and them later in life with the Presbyterian church of Milton. Now she has gone to join the church triumphant.

Besides her husband, children and nieces, she leaves a mother and one sister, Mrs. Hal Reguer, Des Moines.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Milton, Iowa, September 19th, at 10:00, conducted by Rev. U. G. Evans, assisted by Rev. Gilbert. The remains were taken to her old home of Keosauqua for interment.

Through all the long months of suffering, she was ever patient, never complaining and was ready for the departure.

In this passing a home is left desolate, a son and daughter left motherless and a husband in grief.

The husband received many letter of condolence, among them the following from Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Bennett, of Omaha, Nebraska

September 19, 1925

Dear Doctor and family,

You will never know how badly we felt when your telegram came saying that Gertie was no longer with you. It seems we seldom hear from Milton any more and we did not know that Gertie was so bad sick. It is hard to express such sorrow as this. Dock, your self and family certainly have our sincere sympathy. No one will ever take the place of Dock and Gertie with us.
