MRS. WM. S. SHRIVER

Mrs. Samantha Crown Newman was born August 23, 1849, at Farmington, Iowa, and passed away June 28, 1934, at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 5 days. She was the last of a family of 12 children, 6 boys, and 6 girls.

She was united in marriage to Andrew Newman and lived for many years four miles west of Farmington in the home the young husband had prepared for her, and has lived in the vicinity of Farmington all her life, and is so well known by Farmington it seems unnecessary for us to say much. Years ago the husband passed away and left her alone but she always kept herself busy in the making of other people’s lives more bright by loving deeds.

She was united in marriage to Wm. S Shriver Sept. 21, 1914.
Seven years ago she had the misfortune to fall and break her hip and ever since has been confined to her bed in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John White where her every need has been administered to. About one month ago she broke her limb while changing her position in bed and since has been a constant sufferer.

She united with the M.E. church at Farmington and was always as long as able a great worker in the church.
She leaves many relatives and friends to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held at the John White home and she was laid to rest, in the Farmington cemetery. Rev. Harvey E Butler, her pastor, conducted the services.
