Services Tuesday For Truck Victim
-------------------
Billy Andrews Dies Instantly Monday Night
In Unavoidable Accident

Funeral services for William “Billy” Andrews, 16, were held Tuesday afternoon. The crowded Milton Methodist church had been banked with beautiful flowers , a tribute of the community to the young lad who had met a tragic and unexpected death.

Services were in charge of the Rev. J. C. Behrens. Music was furnished by John Holland with Byrl Gilchrist at the piano. Pallbearers were Lozelle Hissem, Edward Roby, William Watts, Jess B. Price, William Campbell and William R. Price.

He was the adopted son of Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Andrews of Milton and would have been a junior in the Milton high school this fall.

Billy was killed instantly Monday evening while riding his bicycle near the Milton school house. He rode directly into the path of a large H. B. Green truck. It is believed his vision had been obstructed by a large tree near the road which hid the pavement from full view. Workman early Tuesday morning had felled the tree. A coroner’s jury rendered a verdict Tuesday morning of “unavoidable accident.”

A popular boy, and well like and admired by his fellow students, his death was a great shock to the whole community in which he lived.
