ED WHITLOCK DEAD.
Dr. Edward A. Whitlock, at one time a prominent citizen of Farmington, died last Sunday afternoon at his home in Wichita, Kans., of heart disease. In speaking of his death the Wichita Daily Beacon has the following to say:
Yesterday afternoon at about 1 o’clock Dr. Edward A. Whitlock died at the Eagle hotel, 116 North Water street.
The doctor had not been in good health for some time, but had not been thought to be seriously ill. At dinner time yesterday he walked over to the hotel and said to the proprietor, Fritz Arnholz, that he believed that he would eat dinner with him. They were old-friends and sat and talked some 15 or 20 minutes, until most of the guests had eaten and had vacated the dining room
Gustay Fielder, Adolph Clegesska and Mr. Arnholtz sat down with the doctor and Mrs. Arnholtz waited on the table. Dr. Whitlock had eaten a bowl of soup and handed the dish to Mrs. Arnholtz when he straitened[sic] up, rose from the table and staggering, would have fallen to the door but for timely aid. He was carried to a bed upstairs and his father and brother were sent for, but life was extinct in a few minutes.
A coroner’s jury consisting of H.T. Dedrick, James Howard, G.W. Berdine, John McComb, F.A. Machenbach and Henry Schab was impanelled and viewed the body, after which it was removed to the home of the deceased over 233 South Main street, and the jury adjourned until 9 o’clock this morning.
The jury found that the deceased came to his death from heart disease, super induced by kidney trouble.

He was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Sons of Herman and A.O.U.W. The funeral tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the house will be under the auspices of the Knights Templar. No other service will be held.
