KEOSAUQUA -- Last rites will be held at the Keosauqua Methodist church at 2 p.m. Tuesday for S-Sgt. Paul Arthur Mairet, 25, who was killed March 9 in an avalanche while hunting in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The Rev. William D. Hudson, pastor of the Keosauqua Methodist church, will officiate, and burial will be in Forbes cemetery, near Mount Zion.

Personnel from the air force station at Kirksville, Mo., will perform the military ritual at the graveside.

The body will arrive at Burnett-Catcott funeral home Sunday.

Mairet was the son of Mrs. Eunice Mairet of Mount Zion and the late Paul Mairet. He is also survived by his wife, the former Maxine Hughes of Keosauqua; two daughters, and three brothers and two sisters.

Sgt. Mairet enlisted in the air force in1948 and had been stationed at Anchorage, Alaska, since July of 1952.
