The deceased were Hiram Thompson of Des Moines and his sister Mrs. W.P.L. Muir of Bonaparte. They were two of the oldest and earliest pioneers of Van Buren county.

Monday, Hiram Thompson died at his home in Des Moines, aged seventy-two years.
He was the brother of Mrs. W.P.L. Muir, who died at her home in Bonaparte, Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the age of seventy-six years.

The remains of Mrs. Thompson were shipped here for interment in the Thompson cemetery south-west of town, and arrived at the station here the evening of the day on which his sister died.

The double funeral was held at the Baptist church Friday afternoon, with interment in the above mentioned cemetery.
