OBITUARY
MRS. JOSEPH MECK

Martha McCaAUSLAND was born on August 19, 1871, near Birmingham, Van Buren county, Iowa and died November 4, 1928, at Iowa State hospital, Iowa City, Iowa, aged 57 years, two months, and fifteen days. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry McCAUSLAND. She had four sisters, one brother, four half-sisters and two half-brothers of whom one sister, one half-brother and two-half sisters survive her.

Both childhood and later life was spent in the vicinity of the place of her birth near Birmingham, and her home at present has been two miles west of Birmingham with her husband and one daughter at home.

On January 19, 1889, she was married to Joseph MECK. To this union were born three children, Ray of Birmingham, Mrs. R. D. LOGAN of Mount Pleasant and Ruth at home.

Besides her husband, brother and sisters, the three children, eight grandchildren and other relatives and many friends will mourn her loss.

Mrs. MECK was a kindly and good mother and wife giving herself unstintedly to the making of the home. She was of a quiet turn not going about much but well liked and respected among her circle of friends. Her place will be vacant and she will be sadly missed.

Rev. Fred Skewes, pastor of the M.E. church, former pastor at Birmingham had cahrge of the funeral which was held at the M.E. churh of Birmingham at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 7. Interment was made at Birmingham cemetery.
