Moline Woman Is Dead Following Fracture of Hip
Mrs. Oliver Baber, 2508 Sixth avenue, Moline, died at the Lutheran hospital at 7:45 a.m. today of complications resulting from a fractured left hip, the injury sustained Saturday.
The woman turned her ankle walking in her home an incurred the hip fracture, As her condition turned critical last evening she was removed to the hospital.
Mrs. Baber was born in Bonaparte, Ia. Oct. 6, 1856, her maiden name being Annie M. Wyer. She married Oliver Baber, on Jan. 26, 1882. She was a member of the Baptist church. Plans were being made by the family to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Baber, which would have been held on Jan. 26, had Mrs. Baber not met with the fatal injury.
Surviving are the widower and two daughters, Mrs. J. B. Matlock, and Mrs. C.B. Thompson of Moline, two sisters, Mrs. L. Simmons and Mrs. Jake Warner, both of Bonaparte, Ia., and two brothers Frank Wyer of Bonaparte and William of Wyoming.
The body is at the Knox funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Knox funeral home, with Rev. W. A. Steinkraus, pastor of the First Baptist church in charge, Burial will be in Valhalla cemetery.Source: Van Buren Co. Genealogical Society Scrapbook A, page 341, Keosauqua Public Library; Keosauqua, IA
