James W. WARNER

STOCKPORT -- The service for James W. WARNER, 75, of rural Stockport, who died at 6:55 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 1992, at Jefferson County Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Sara Malone officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery at Stockport. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Stockport United Methodist Church and the American Heart Association.

WARNER was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Van Buren County, the son of Charles A. and Ethel HAWBAKER WARNER. He graduated from Stockport High School in 1935. On June 30, 1945, he married Merribelle MILLER in Ottumwa. He was a lifelong resident of the Stockport community and retired farmer. He met daily with the "coffee group" at Anderson's Service Station.

Surviving are his wife; a brother, Tom of Stockport; three sisters, Frances BRADY, Kitty SCHLIFFKE, both of Omaha, Neb., and Ardith DERRY of Eugene, Ore. His parents preceded him in death.
