John A. Williamson

John A. Williamson, 91 year old resident of Hillsboro, died after a few days illness at 4 o’clock Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.E. Benn. He was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, Jan. 4, 1837.

During the Civil war he served with company H. 143rd Ohio infantry. He was married to Loretta Abbot April 3, at Clay Grove, Iowa. He was a member of the Christian church at Hillsboro.

He is survived by two sons, Ben of Ft. Madison and Fred of Donnellson; four daughters, Mrs. G.F. Kelley of Davenport; Mrs. F. Lucas of Lake, Wash., Mrs. J.E. Benn and Mrs. C.E. Watts, both of Hillsboro.

Funeral services were held from the Christian church at Hillsboro at two o’clock Monday afternoon.

It will be remembered that Mrs. Ben Williamson, a daughter in law of the deceased was fatally burned only a short time ago at her home near Ft. Madison.
