John Persinger

FARMINGTON- John Persinger, 94, former blacksmith and farmer, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant.

Born April 21, 1864, at Salem, he was the son of John and Tabitha Masden Persinger and was married at Salem to Olive Glasgow, who died in 1942. He was married in 1944 to Clara May Gee at Byron, Ohio. She also died previously. He operated a blacksmith shop at Hillsboro and later was a Van Buren county farmer.

Surviving are a son, Fred, Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Nora, at home; two step-daughters, Marie and Hazel, both living in California, and three step grandchildren. Three sisters, one brother a son and a daughter died previously.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington Methodist church, the Rev. M. Ellsworth Walker officiating. Burial, with Masonic rites, will be in Salem cemetery.
