George F. Jemison

George F. Jemison, 71, a retired merchant of Ottumwa, died suddenly at his home in Ottumwa at 11:45 a.m. Friday. He was born at Pittsburg, near Keosauqua, Nov. 16, 1876, the son of John and Sarah Scott Jemison. He had lived in Ottumwa for 30 years.

He was married June 28, 1905 at Selma to Miss Grace Countryman. She survives him, also three daughters, Mrs. Opal Gibb, Mrs. Paula Stater and Mrs. Frances Rock, all of Ottumwa; and a son, Bud of Ottumwa. He is also survived by a brother, O.N. Jemison of Keosauqua, and two sisters, Mrs. Alva Hoskins of Keosauqua and Mrs. Roy Gibson of Ottumwa. Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Monday at Ottumwa and burial in Memorial Lawn cemetery there.
