JOSEPH MECK PASSED AWAY
Was a Resident of Near Birmingham For Many Years; Died at the Hospital

Joseph MECK, who has resided for many years on a farm 2 miles west of Birmingham, passed away this morning at 8:30 oclock at the Jefferson county hospital, where he had been a patient for 5 days.

The funeral services will be held Thursday from the Methodist church in Birmingham with burial in the cemetery nearby. Mr. MECK was about 70 years of age. His wife died at Iowa City three months ago. He is survived by three children: Mrs. Day LOGAN of Mt. Pleasant, Miss Ruth MECK at home, and Ray MECK of Birmingham.

(This was my great-grandfather. Raymond Henry MECK was my grandfather.)
