Mary E. Shaffer was born near Anson, Clark County, Mo., April 16, 1855, and died October 11, 1908 aged 53 yr., 5 mo., 25 da.

The deceased was married to William C. Fine August 30, 1874. To this union were born six children, two of whom died in infancy. The living sons and daughters of this family are Mrs. Minnie Johnson of near Bonaparte, Mrs. Cora Matlock of Pasadena, California, C. Edward Fine of Rialto, California, and Harry C. Fine, the youngest, who resided at home.

The most of her life has been spent in Iowa not far from her old home in Anson, Mo. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Anson, Mo.

The aged mother, one sister, and brother of the deceased reside at Santa Anna, California. The husband, family, relatives and many friends are left to mourn their loss of a loving mother and kind friend.
