Nick Helmhout

Nick Helmhout, 75, died at 2:15 a.m. Monday at his home at Lebanon in Van Buren county. He had been in poor health for some time and critically ill a week.

He was a native of Burhum, Holland, and came to the United State[sic] alone when he was 16. He moved to this county from Williamsburg in 1916 and to Lebanon 10 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Oscar of Gilbert, Ariz., and Nick, Jr., of Tucson; four daughters, Mrs. Franz Keller of Keosauqua, Mrs. W.A. State of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Harvey Craig of Meridan, Calif. and Mrs. J.S. Roush of Tempe, Ariz.; three half brothers, Bart Bandstra of Pella, John Bandstra of Chandler, Minn., and Andrew Bandstra of Peoria, Iowa; a half sister, Mrs. C. Van Duke of Sully; a step-sister, Mrs. Emma Koster of Edgerton, Minn., and two stepsons, Paul and Del Megrath of Lebanon.
