Charles W. Godown Succumbs at Milton

Retired Farmer, 66, Is Survived by Wife, Brother and Sister: Funeral Will Be Today

Charles William Godown … [Note: This word is illegible.] at his home at Milton Monday morning after a very brief illness. He had been to Ottumwa the preceding day and apparently had been in good health, but became ill during the night.

Mr. Godown, who was 66 years old, was born in Keosauqua and spent most of his life in Van Buren county. He was a retired farmer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, Walter Godown of Milton, and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Sheets of Milton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock this afternoon at the Methodist church in Milton. The Rev. A.M. Hadley and the Rev. Harvey Butler will be in charge. Burial will be at the Milton cemetery.
