BIRMINGHAM -- Clyde A. Dille, 81, Birmingham, died in Jefferson county Hospital, Fairfield, Saturday, Aug. 27.
He was born Nov. 3, 1901 to Edwin and Sarah Hodson Dille at Salem, and had lived at Salem, Douds and Birmingham. He was owner-operator of the Farmers Store, with which he was identified for more than 60 years, retiring in 1978.
Mr. Dille had served on the town council and the school board. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, IOOF, Birmingham Volunteer Fire Department, and Lions Club, of which he was a charter member.
He married Gertrude Topping April 27, 1926, at Birmingham.
Surviving: The wife; two sons, Lloyd R., East Hampton, N.Y., and Kenneth D., Birmingham; a daughter, Bette J. Countryman, Birmingham; brother Vance Dille, Birmingham; sister Ina Hootman, Fairfield; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, United Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Charles McCracken; Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials have been established at Burch Funeral Home for the United Presbyterian Church, Volunteer Fire Department and Lions Club.
