Obituary.

J. J. Miller was born in Pennsylvania, October 27, 1829. He came to Van Buren county with his parents in 1854 and lived here until 1859 when he and his brother, E. E. Miller, crossed the plains to California.

For the past few years he has resided at Carson City, Nevada, where he died May 23, 1905, aged 75 years, 6 months, and 26 days.

He leaves to mourn their loss the following brothers and sisters: -- Sarah A. Keasling, E. E. Miller, Henrietta C. Lydolph, and S. P. Miller of Bonaparte, Iowa, and Zebulon W. Miller and Amanda C. Proctor of Montana.
