Death of James Burns
James Burns was born on his father’s farm south of Keosauqua, October 1, 1852, and all his life was spent in Van Buren county.
June 24, 1880, he was married to Miss Millie Craney.
To them were born two daughters, both of whom preceded their father in death several years. After marriage he and his wife lived on the farm until he retired some years ago, after which they bought a home in Keosauqua, where they were living when he passed away, November 30, 1921, at the age of 69 years and 2 months.
He was a man who was liked by all his neighbors and friends in the communities where he lived.Funeral services were held at the home, Sunday, Dec. 4, at 1 o’clock p.m. conducted by Rev. J. C. Caughlan, pastor of the M. E. church of Keosauqua.
