RUTH KELLER

Ruth Elizabeth BLACK KELLER, 82, of Cantril died at 9 p.m., at Iowa Methodist Health Systems in Des Moines.

She was born March 26, 1913, in Jefferson County to Harry and Laura HUMMELL BLACK Sr. She married Earl Oren KELLER on Nov. 20, 1929 in Henry County.

She attended Fairfield Public Schools. She lived 50 years in Jackson Township, Van Buren County. She was a farm wife, a member of United Methodist Church, Sunday school teacher for 30 years and a member of the United Methodist Church Women's Circle.

She is survived by her husband, a son, Bob BLACK, Jr. of Ogden; three daughters, Laura LAUMEYER of Ottumwa, Myra FOWLER of Centerville and Marilyn RATLIFF of Milton; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a sister, Nellie McALLISTER of Hamilton, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Violet and 4 brothers, Roy, Carl, Robert Sr. and Harry Jr.

The service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, 1995 at Cantril United Methodist Church, the Revs. Jerry Caughron and Robert Griffin officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Sunday Schools.
