EARL ORAN KELLER

Earl Oran KELLER, of 202 Grant St., Cantril, died at 8:10 p.m. Sept. 24, 1997, at the Madrid Home For Aging in Madrid, after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 28, 1909, in Henry county to Jule and Maggie LIBLIN KELLER. He married Ruth Elizabeth BLACK Nov. 20, 1929, in Henry County. She died Sept. 4. 1995.

He attended rural schools in the Wooster area of Henry County. He worked on the railroad and in road construction in his youth as well as farming and threshing in Henry and Jefferson Counties until he moved to Van Buren County in 1947. He farmed north of Milton in Jackson Township until his retirement in 1975. He moved to Cantril in 1980. He had been a Jackson Township trustee and served on the Van Buren County Election Board for 30 years. He was a member of the Iowa Cattleman's Association and Angus Association. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church in Milton.

He is survived by a son, Bob BLACK Jr. of Ogden; three daughters, Laura LAUMEYER of Ottumwa, Myra FOWLER of Centerville, and Marilyn RATLIFF of Milton; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Marshall, Ralph, James and Russell KELLER, and a sister, Macelle BRERETON.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday. September 28, 1997 at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

Memorials may be made to the Cantril Park Fund for the Cantril Ball Diamond.
