Gene L. TURNER
Gene L. TURNER, 74, of Route 1, Douds, died at 12:16 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2000 in the Long Tern Care Unit of Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield.
He was born December 2, 1925 near Troy to Roy and Ethel ENSMINGER TURNER.
He married Mary Christine CLAYTON, November 22, 1947 in Ottumwa.
He spent his life farming in the Troy-Douds area. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, 26-89 Saddle Club and was an avid coyote hunter.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Kenneth of Douds, two grandchildren, Douglas and Stacy TURNER, a daughter-in-law, Sheryl TURNER of Douds, two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Duane and a sister Carmen Ritz COX.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2000 at the Lebanon United Methodist Church, the Rev. Connie Markle officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the family present 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials to Lebanon United Methodist Church or Davis County Hospital Long Term Care Unit may be left at the funeral home.
