Rites Thursday For Fred CANADAY

ELDON -- Fred W. CANADY, 79, died today at 1:15 a.m. at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

He was born Sept. 13, 1892, in Van Buren County, to Ensley and Carrie GIBERSON CANADAY. He married Della A. HENDRICKS Feb. 21, 1911, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roy MATHIAS of Selma; four sons, Van of Eldon, Dale of Selma, Donald of Newton, and Eugene of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ella POPEJOY and Mrs. Gladys PENCIL, both of Fairfield.

Seven sisters and four brothers also preceded him in death.

The service will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Eldon, conducted by the Rev. Milton Forbes. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery.
