Edith Pearl Kritzman

Edith Pearl, fifth child of John and Elizabeth Kritzman was born near Milton, Iowa. Nov. 16, 1895, and departed this life at the family home, August 22, 1942, after five months of patient suffering of a heart ailment with which she had been afflicted for a number of years.

She received her education in the rural schools, Milton high school and the Bloomfield Normal school with the ambition to become a public school teacher, although her health would not permit her to finish this course. She was always a willing and faithful helper in the family home, and here in the presence of her silent form, we think of her in her relations as sister friend and neighbor. We know “She hath done what she could.”

She united with the Lebanon Methodist church at the age of twelve years under the pastorate of Rev. Hiram F Gilbert, in which faith she continued true and faithful until death.

She was preceded in death by her mother, January 17, 1918 and by her father February 6, 1935, and is survived by two brothers and four sisters namely: Wallace J. and Elmer E of Ottumwa, Iowa; Hannah M. of Quincy, Illinois, Mrs. Ed Shobe of Milton, Iowa, Alma of Washington, D.C., Clara E of Milton, one nephew, six nieces and other relatives and friends.

Edith will be greatly missed by her sister and brothers and a large circle of relatives and friends.

A precious sister from us has gone.
She whom we dearly loved.
A place is vacant in our home
Which can never be filled.

Funeral Services were held in the Lebanon Methodist church Monday afternoon in charge of the pastor, Jay N Waterman
Burial was in Lebanon cemetery. Mrs. Hazen Beeler, Mrs. Jay Waterman and daughter Joyce, provided the music.
