Ned Harrison
Dies at 98Ned Harrison oldest Resident of Van Buren County died at his home at Lebanon at 4 o'clock Monday morning. He was 98 and had lived on the farm near Lebanon 35 years. Mr. Harrison was born on an Illinois farm on February 28, 1841.
In 1864, he married Hester Damron, and 10 years later they moved to Nebraska. Following a grasshopper plague they came to Iowa and settled near Lebanon.
Mr. Harrison, known as "Uncle Ned"to all his friends, is survived by four children. James Edward, who is in the produce business in Pulaski, Eugene of Lewis, Wisc. Miss Emma at home and Mrs. Glen Wilson of Eldon.
Eugene Harrison and daughters Mary and Cleda and Mrs. Johnston of Lewis, Wisc. arrived at Lebonan Monday morning.
Funeral services for Mr. Harrison will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Lebanon Methodist churh. In charge of will be Mr. Harrison's nephew -in-law the Rev.Arthur Jones of Kirksville, Mo. assisted by the Rev. Mr. Nolan. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Burial will be at the Lebanon cemetery.
