OTTUMWA - Bernice N. "Bea" COLLINS, 80, of 623 Edwards Drive died at 6:55 p.m., Oct. 9, 1996, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

She was born April 17, 1916, in Birmingham to Pearl and Mary GRAMMER SMITH. She married William R. COLLINS July 8, 1939. He died Dec. 12, 1994.

She was a resident of Ottumwa most her life and was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Karlene Snell of Ottumwa; a granddaughter; a brother, Bob SMITH of Birmingham; and three sisters, Ella REED and Mildred CHANNEL of Libertyville and Shirley NORRIS of Birmingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John and Rolland Smith and infant, Hugh Smith.

The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Rex Wilson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jim Barnes, Allen Winders, Kent Sedore, Carroll Unkrich, Roger Channel and Laverne Love.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roget Snell, Graydon Scott, Dr. Roy Meyer and Tom Blew.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association in care of Patricia Schmidt, 1818 Richmond Ave., Ottumwa.
