Clara Miller Hopp, daughter of Harrison and Margaret was born Oct.28, 1879 in Scotland county near Azen, Mo., and passed away Feb.13, 1949, age 69 years 3months and 16 days.
On January 23, 1895 she was united in marriage to Albert Hopp. To this union three children were born, one son who died in infancy, two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Wollam Cantril and Mrs. Madeline McLeland of Milton, Iowa.
In early life she united with the Methodist church at Upton, later moving her membership to Cantril Methodist church.
They lived on a farm near Upton, Iowa the first 20 years of their married life, then moved to Cantril where they have lived until her death.
They passed their 54th wedding anniversary the 23rd of January.
She leaves to morn her passing her companion, Albert Hopp, Two daughters Mrs. Mamie Wollam of Cantril and Mrs. Madeline McLeland of Milton, Iowa. Five grandchildren, Berta and Dale Wollam, Ray, Joe, and Linda McLeland. Seven living brothers, Charley of Alva, Okla., Levi of Lamar, Mo., Elmer and Ray of Kiowa, Kansas, Leslie of Hazelton, Kansas, Frank and Leonard of Uvadale, Texas, and a host of neices and nephews. One brother, Armon and her parents preceded her in death.
She was a cheerful, warm hearted disposition. Always a devoted wife and mother. She gave of herself unselfishly to her family, never thinking of herself, but always of others.
Funeral services were held at Cantril, Christian church Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. Darlington of Milton officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery.
