Died at his home in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, Sept. 22, 1905, Thomas J. Hunter, aged 36 years, 6 months and 26 days. He was born and grew to manhood in Clark county, Mo., and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He expressed strong faith in Christ and was conscious to the last, calling his mother, brothers and sisters around him to bid them goodbye, urging them to so live as to meet him in heaven. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church in Mt. Sterling under the auspices of the I.O.O.F., of which order he was a member, the sermon being by Rev. Charles A. Wheeler of Pulaski, after which the body was buried in the Conkle cemetery.
