John Franklin brewer was born November 26, 1885 in Henderson County, Illinois and departed this life at his home south of Cantril, Iowa January 27, 1940 being 54 years, 2 months, and 1 day at the time of his death.
He was the son of Albert A. and Clara Brewer. He was united in marriage to Della Henderson Nov. 5, 1905 and to this union two children were born who survive namely, Walter of Donnellson, Ia. and Nora Zollars of Mt. Sterling, Ia. She proceeded him in death.
He was again married to mabel Pearl poling December 2, 1916 and to this union two children were born who survive, namely, Johnnie Jr. of Cantril, Ia. and Mae at home. She Proceeded him in death December 29, 1937.He is Survived by one grandson Wayne Zollars, his mother of Keokuk, Ia. and 9 Brothers and sisters namely, Rilla and Julia of Los Angeles, Calf., Addie and Chelmer of Omaha, Nebraska. Charlie of Blandinsville, Ill. Issac of Biggsville, Ill., Jim of Mason City, Ia., Kirby of Galesburg, Ill., C.W. of Milton, Ia. He was also proceeded in death by his father and 2 sisters.
He was a kind, loving father, and will be fondly remembered by relatives, friends and neighbors as one who was always willing to help in time of need.
funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Mt. Sterling Methodist church Rev. A.M. Hadley Officiating, Burial was in Harness Cemetary. (last two lines are unreadable)
