Lawerence J. Finn Rites at Bosworth
Lawrence J Finn, 93, dies Saturday morning at the Miller rest home in Chillicothe. He had lived there six years.
Born near Galesburg, Ia., November 10, 1870, Mr, Finn was one of two sons of James Finn and Sarah (West) FInn. He served as a rural mail carrier at Bosworth and had also been a farmer. He formerly operated a harness shop in the present location of the Leipard & Edwards mortuary.
Mr. Finn was predeceased by his wife Mrs. Addie Mae Finn, in 1957. Two children were born to them, a daughter Mrs. Letha Fleming of Newton, Iowa and a son, Floyd Finn, predeceasing his father. Also surviving are a grandson William L. Fleming, Waukegan, Ill., and two great grand children.
A member of the Baptist church, Mr. Finn was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Finn of Mt. Pleaant, Ia.
Funeral services were at 2:30 o'clock Sunday at the Leipard & Edwards chapel cinducted by Rev. William Cox. Burial was in the Wharton cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives attending the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Finn and daughter, Burlington, Ia., Mr and Mrs. Bloom Fleming, Newton, Ia., Mrs. Goldie Finn and Henry Hauk of Des Monies, Ia.

Note: Corrections to the obituary by Nancy Koprucki Peterson. Lawrence was one of 6 sons, Sarah's maiden name was Wort and the brother that shows predeaceasing him was his brother Edward who died in Colorado in 1958, not Charles.
Lawrence was my great uncle, the older brother of my grandfather Charles Finn. His wife's maiden name was Corns, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Angeline Stice Corns.

Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Finn of Mt. Pleasant and daughter Mrs. Carl Vickstrum of Burlington and Miss Hazel Hornbaker of Bonaparte attend the funeral, Sunday, of Mr.L.J. Finn, 94 in Bosworth, Mo., a former Bonaparte resident. Mr. Finn was the first mail carrier out of Bonaparte on the south of the river in horse and buggy days and later a postmaster here.
