MRS. MARION HORNBAKER

Mary Florence Finn, daughter of James and Sarah Wort Finn, was born Nov.10 1867 in Farmington township, near Farmington, Iowa.

At an early age, she moved with her parents to California, where they lived for four years, then returned to Iowa, which remained her home until her death.

In 1893, on Oct. 18, she was united in marriage with Marion F Hornbaker, and their 50 years of married life was spent on the same farm near Bonaparte, Iowa, with the exception of three and one half years in Bonaparte.

She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in young womanhood and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Magnolia Chapter 276 of Bonaparte.

After several months of failing health, she passed peacefully away on Dec. 29, 1943.

Those left to mourn her passing are the husband, son, Roger and wife, Nona, daughter Hazel, the grandchhildren, Cecil, Elaine and husband, Richard Burkette, Gayle, JoAnne, Duane and Carolyn, also two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Clarke of Pella, Iowa and Mrs. Alwilda Eller of Mt. Pleasnat, and four brothers, Robert of Des Moines, Lawrence of Bosworth, Mo., Edward of Delta, Colo. and Charles of Mt. Pleasant, also a number of neces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Story Chapel, Rev. F.M. James of Fairfield, a former pastor and friend, officiating. Interment in Thompson cemetery.

Relatives who came from a distance for the funeral were L.J.Finn, of Bosworth, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Eller of Mt.Pleasant, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sissen and son of Luray, Mo., Mrs. Charles Overhulser of Memphis, Mo., Mrs Clyde McCann of Des Moines, Iowa, Howard Finn and Mrs. Bloom Fleming of Newton, Iowa.

Also in attendence were her grandson, Apprentice Seaman Gayle Hornbaker of Maryville, Mo., and granddaughter, Mrs. Richard Burkett of Fairfield and husband who is now a Seaman First Class in the navy located at New Orleans.
