C.F. Brewster, Former Resident Dies in Kansas.
Kansas City, Kansas.
C.F. Brewster, 57, executive manager of Richard Muther and Assoc. of Kansas City and former president of the Ideal Baking Co., Jasksonville, Ill., died here Monday of a heart attack while driving his car.
The Brewster family resided in Jacksonville from from 1965-1969.
He was born in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Brewster. He married Dorothy Conover of Jacksonville, who survives in Shawnee Misson, Kansas, with a son, Dr. Robert C. Brewster of Grand Forks, N.D., and two daughters, Mrs. Carloyn King of Selina, Kansas and Miss Elizabeth(Libby) Brewster at home.
There is one grandson. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Donaldson of Portland, Ore. also survives.
Mr. Brewster was a retired Chief Industrial Engineer for the Butler Manuufacturing Co. in Kansas City; a graduate of the University Of Colo. at Boulder with a degree in mechanical enginerring; past chairman of the official board of Country Club United Methodist Church of Kansas City; on the district board of trustees of the Kansas City Southern District Methodist Churches; and past president of the western chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Jacksonville; a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management; a member of the Jacksonville Elks Club and the Grace Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Country Club United Methodist Church. A memorial fund has been set up at the church for those wishing to make donations.
Interment will be in Kansas City.
Clarence F. Brewster died January 4, 1971.
This obituary was found among my mother, Aileen Finn Koprucki's, Brewster and Finn collection of family memories. Clarence was her first cousin. No newspaper name was mentioned.
Clarence's parents were Howard Windsor and Elizabeth Frank Brewster, both born in Van Buren county and the grandson of Hardin and Mary Francis Kingsbury Brewster of Keosauqua.
